April 23, 2010 Update: Winner is Amy Gabaldon! Amy, pls contact me to claim your free pass.
I would love to attend this event free. I have a lot of passion for SharePoint. In my limited capacity in a small community, I have been actively preaching about SharePoint. I never had any formal training in application development or SharePoint. Throughout my life, I have learned things by doing. I think this is the right time for me to attend an event and learn from insides. I met you in person in Columbus. It was a pleasure meeting you. I look forward to rub shoulders with Joel and transmit some of his travel bugs into me. I would love to travel and preach about SharePoint.
I would love to get the opportunity to attend this conference! I have been the lone Sharepoint cheerleader at our company and after working with it for 2 years—finally am getting some incouraging signs from our IT department that they might be actually coming onto the team as well! Imagine that! 🙂 We are using it–but I see the sky is the limit for what we could really do with this tool. Some key folks here are beginning to see it as well. Which is exciting! I feel like we are just at the brink of greatness with all of this. Getting the opportunity to attend this conference and bring back new ideas/different things to consider would be great for where we are with all of this. Most of the time, the possibilities/inovations/process improvement ideas that could be done in Sharepoint are so huge it can be overwhelming (to a non-IT person like me!). Please pick me for the free tickets! 🙂
It would be fantastic to travel to LA to attend the conference, but alas, my other duties would not allow it. My personal situation mirrors Amy Gabaldon, a lone evangalist preaching to the deaf masses – but I too (after 2+ years) am starting to make headway and getting some great response! So in true cheerleader spirit – I’d like to see the underdog win this chance to meet the experts, vote for Amy – and then I’d like to have a report from Amy’s perspective on what she found most enlightening, encouraging, and exciting that we all should know about! Go Amy! Yeah Dux! Hooray Sharepoint!
Xene!
Thanks for the vote of confidence and support! If I did get the opportunity to attend I would definitely come back and share what I had learned–hopefully to the betterment of folks like Xene and myself just trying to make the most of this technology that I feel is going to be just getting bigger and better as time goes on…
Underdogs/Lone Sharepoint Cheerleaders of the world UNITE!
I vote for Amy too
Amy Gabaldon has been mentoring my co-workers and I here at AA for a couple of years now. The applications are now becoming very useful and less time consuming when it comes to development. Amy is fired up more than anyone when it comes to Sharepoint possiblities. I believe that she can improve our internal and external communication as well as revolutionize our data storage and filing systems. Please select Amy to come and learn from the best!
Hey,
I can only mirror Jerry’s comments. Amy has been very much the “William Wallace” of the company sharepoint implementation. She is rounding up supporters around the company and dragging us kicking and screaming into the future, despite numerous setbacks.
She is very deserving of this opportunity and it would benefit herself, and those of us lucky enough to work with her.
There are so many reasons I would appreciate the opportunity to attend the conference; however the main reason is that it would be another opportunity to advance my SharePoint skills as well as increase my value to the SharePoint community.
I have been working with SharePoint for aproximately 2 years and in that time, I have managed to achieve my MCTS by passing Exam 70-631 with a perfect score and landing a job as a SharePoint administrator. I accomplished these achievements by taking a SharePoint class at a local community college, reading as many SharePoint books as possible and becoming an active member of our local SharePoint users group. I’ve done all of this while attending school online as a mother, wife and full-time employee. I am also in the process of starting a SharePoint beginners blog as I am documenting the new SharePoint tips and tricks I learn on a daily basis.
I believe that I can be an effective SharePoint evangelist in the community and am confident that the knowledge gained by attending the conference will be put to use to promote the use of the product.
Thank you for your consideration.
Amy G. is a ‘the’ Sharepoint power user and all-around application visionary zealot. Our company procedures have 194 pages of forms/processes that need re-engineering and automation. She has an idea for every one. We are fortunate to have her in our ranks. She has plowed through stacks of tutorials and figured out error messages when all other were stumped. GO AMY
For me attending such an event is a dream come true… I started my career in SharePoint not long time ago and it would really give me a push forward. Anyway congrats in advance for the one who receive this ticket.
Dux!
Thanks so much for the ticket and the opportunity to attend the conference. I had the opportunity to meet some really cool people and to find out that where we are with Sharepoint is not so far off from everyone else…which was really reassuring!
If you are like me, and have been beating your head against a wall for a while with this stuff–I would really encourage you to attend something like this–or even a Sharepoint User group in your community (they are sprouting up everywhere!). Sharepoint is meant to foster collaboration—but it definitely takes collaboration to get it going! This is not a one person “go figure it out” type of thing!
Thanks again Dux!
Amy
