I am working on the final touches of the resource site for my book “SharePoint for Project Management”. The site is running on WSS 3.0. One of the things I wanted to put on the home page is an RSS feed of my blog.

As some of you might now, WSS does not come with an RSS web part. Fortunately, I found a simple solution courtesy of SharePointRSS.com. Here are 10 easy steps that I took to add an RSS reader web part to my SharePoint site:
- Go to http://www.sharepointrss.com.
- Add the RSS feed and update the appropriate settings.
- Click Generate. Click Save to download the DWP file.
- Go to the SharePoint page where you want to display the RSS feed and click Site Actions | Edit Page.
- On the appropriate Web Part zone, click Add a Web Part.
- From the Add Web Parts browser window, click Advanced web part gallery and options.
- From the Add Web Parts task pane, change the selection from Browse to Import.
- Import the RSS reader Web Part and click Upload.
- Drag it to the appropriate Web Part Zone and click OK.
- Click Exit Edit mode.
There you have it! Btw, SPforPM.com will be available by November 1, 2008.
Very nice!!!! Will use that in a future project. Thank you
