Essentially, Google Insights allows you to compare search volume patterns across specific regions, categories, and time frames. You can pretty much slice and dice data for marketing, business development, customer analysis and research purposes.

I was quite curious where SharePoint is hot so I looked up the keyword “SharePoint”, set the timframe from 2004-today and what I found was quite interesting when I updated the regional settings:
1. Region: Worldwide
2. Region: USA
In addition, it also showed me related keywords people are searching for:
Alright, you might say, “Good for you, Dux. But Why should I care?” Well, if you are in the SharePoint business, this information is worth gold! It can help you determine:
